A short excerpt : “I was given the chance to taste a small vertical of Calmel & Joseph’s La Marquise, a blend of Roussanne and Grenache Gris grown organically in the garrigue-framed vineyards of their Corbières estate. It served to underline just how well these varieties age – holding their brightness and freshness even as the flavours deepen in timbre and richness. I only hope that more producers consider holding back wines in libraries in order to show the world that Languedoc white wines hold their own when it comes to ageing potential”
